Hidden River Events--a 17+ acre farm just 10 minutes from downtown Asheville, North Carolina--is perfect for couples who are planning a destination wedding and also for those who are local and seek a ceremony and reception site in North Carolina. The Knot: North Carolina selected Hidden River as one of the best outdoor reception sites in the state (March 2008 issue). Hidden River offers a choice of several lovely mountain wedding sites, including locations right next to the river, on an island in a pond, in the perennial garden, or in the main field, with the amazing Blue Ridge Mountains as a backdrop. If you are thinking about an Asheville Wedding, consider Hidden River Events. Our prices are among the most competitive in the region. (See our Description of Services and Pricing page) Our peak season is from March 16 to November 8, with significantly discounted rates in the off-season, and pricing specials in March and April. Hidden River Events accommodates large weddings (200 or less), small weddings and elopements, and, with our on-site housing, destination weddings.
Our services include all of the infrastructure, labor, and vendors you need for your wedding. Clients work with our Event Coordinator to select from our choice of select vendors who give us quality and reasonable products and services. For those who seek a largely outdoor event, we have everything needed to make the event comfortable, rain or shine. Our packages include: 3500 s.f. of white-framed tent space on a concrete pad (with sidewalls and heating, if needed), heavy duty white rezin garden chairs, dining and serving tables, cocktail tables, full length white table linens, plates/utensils/glassware, horse drawn carriage, sound system/DJ, dance floor, state-of-the art LED lighting system, ice chests, permanent bath facilities, catering tent, on-site golf cart shuttle for those with special needs, horse carriage and driver, and an event coordinator. All Saturday packages include housing on-site for up to 52 people if clients are looking for North Carolina mountain cabin weddings. Sunday weddings can be with or without housing and Friday events, as available, are without housing. Non-Saturday weddings, especially weekday weddings, are especially affordable. And Clients who seek an indoor event for 50 or less people during the off-season/winter find that our prices are especially competitive.
The business philosophy of Hidden River was born from the dream of its owner, Dr. Jeanne Sommer, who is one of the most sought out wedding officiants in North Carolina. Dr. Sommer has over 20 years experience as an officiant and as a professor of Religious Studies at nearby Warren Wilson College. She crafts ceremonies designed to reflect the faith and values of the couples, traditional or non-traditional; and the business practices of Hidden River are motivated by three primary ideals: 1) Offering wedding services in the region that keep costs reasonable and the focus of the couples on what is most important: their relationship 2) The preservation of historic Swannanoa Valley farm land, one of the last open valleys so close to the city 3) A business philosophy of “Love Multiplies!” that prompts the giving of a percentage of the cost of each event to local charities.
Among the amazing North Carolina wedding locations that Clients will likely find as they search our region, the Staff at Hidden River Events hopes that Clients who select Hidden River will find our kind and efficient services, our goal of producing “faithfully elegant” weddings that do not go overboard, and the scenic beauty of our mountain and river front facilities to be unforgettable. Please email us to set up a tour. Asheville weddings at Hidden River produce lifetime results and memories!
