Choosing the Right Flowers for Your Wedding

Choosing the Right Flowers for Your Wedding

When choosing wedding flowers, Think Spring!

February brings with it the gray doldrums of winter. To lift spirits, this is a great time for couples to start researching the right flowers. Picking the right wedding flowers for your big day takes careful consideration. As you research wedding flowers you need to decide what flowers will fit into the overall theme and design of your big day. Flowers are the main focal point of wedding decor and can mean so much more than just something pretty for the bride to carry down the aisle. In addition, our flowers will be in every picture taken the day of your wedding. Many people try to save money by scrimping on the flowers or attempting to do them themselves.  The biggest day of your life is not the time to try to DIY or Pintrest a bouquet. You need capable professionals to guide you.  As a result, some research on the meaning of flowers is in order.

Flowers Can be Symbolic

Flowers add color and tone to a wedding however they can even have a symbolic meaning. Daisies are bright and casual, perfect for a country theme or mountain wedding. They also symbolize sharing one’s feelings, which is the whole point of a wedding and another deeper reason they are so popular. Bee Balm is a tall, beautiful summer flower here in Western North Carolina. It symbolizes prosperity, restful sleep, and fertility so it is just perfect for weddings and new beginnings. For couples that plan to start a family, the restful sleep symbolism will become very important down the road. The Cosmos flower symbolizes the structure of the universe, infinity, and perfect order. That is setting the bar really high for a wedding day much less life. The ultimate wedding symbolic flower is the Gladiola, it symbolizes piercing the soul with love. That’s a bold public statement for wedding flowers.  We should all be so lucky in life!

Choose the Flowers that are a Reflection of you!

You don’t have to pick your wedding flowers according to deeper meanings and symbolism. Many couples pick their flowers according to the color, look, or simply because the flowers bring them joy. Some wedding favorites are hydrangeas, roses of all colors, and tulips. Sunflowers are a favorite for mountain weddings and country themes. They can be dressed up or down depending on the wedding decor. Zinnias and Marigolds are perfect for adding an eye-catching pop of color to your event.  There are no set rules on what flowers are right or wrong for your wedding.  Like all choices in creating your wedding, they just need to be a reflection of you and your future spouse.

We Specialize in All-Inclusive

At first, we thought all-inclusive meant just having all the infrastructure ready to go for the couple, so what looks like such a simply beautiful, largely outdoor wedding could be as clean and simple as the lines of the tent.  There should be no hassles about getting in all the infrastructure and having it ready for your wedding. We did not want to witness a rental truck showing up at the last minute and a mom or bridesmaid, or the couple themselves, setting up chairs and tables–even mowing the yard–on the morning of the wedding.  These were all things Jeanne witnessed repeatedly over the years. No wonder people were exhausted before their wedding even began…
