Wedding Spotlight: Ali and Alex

The Venue

Our wedding spotlight this month is the wedding of Ali and Alex. They chose to have their wedding on August 15th at Hidden River Events nestled in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. Notably, They chose to have a small wedding with 48 guests in attendance, including their rottweiler Tilly. Accordingly, the bride prepared for the wedding at the Bridal studio near the wedding site.

The Ceremony

The groom, Alex found his own way to The Pond wedding site together with guests. Comparatively, Ali rode in style with a white horse-drawn carriage.

The wedding party and guests were assembled and ready to begin the ceremony just after 3:30 in the afternoon. To be sure, The Pond is a magical setting for a mountain wedding.

Hidden River Events’ own Jeanne Sommer officiated the wedding for the couple. They chose a beautiful arbor with a good dose of flowers as their backdrop. The bride carried a bouquet of flowers with a strong emphasis on pink, orange, and red that matched the arbor. The groom wore a matching boutonniere wrapped with twine, and not be outdone-Tilly had a flowered dog collar.

The Reception

Following the ceremony, they took the carriage to the reception tent nearby and met up with their guests for cocktail hour. Besides enjoying cocktails, Anne’s Custom catering provided guests with meat and cheese trays, artichoke dip, and bacon-wrapped shrimp.  Erica Mueller Photography took pictures throughout the day of the bridal party and guests.

At 5 o’clock the reception began with the announcement of the bride and groom.  Ali and Alex enjoyed their first dance before sitting down to dinner provided by Anne’s Custom Catering. The guests feasted on steak with caramelized onions and bleu cheese, brown butter roasted green beans, and a decadent salad of mixed greens and strawberries for dinner. Notably, dessert was a vanilla cake with lavender filling and chocolate ganache.

The Happily Ever After

Afterward, the wedding party had the traditional speeches and danced the evening away in the Hidden River Events lavish tent. Ultimately, following the bouquet and garter toss, the bride and groom departed for the evening to start their new lives as man and wife.

We Specialize in All-Inclusive

At first, we thought all-inclusive meant just having all the infrastructure ready to go for the couple, so what looks like such a simply beautiful, largely outdoor wedding could be as clean and simple as the lines of the tent.  There should be no hassles about getting in all the infrastructure and having it ready for your wedding. We did not want to witness a rental truck showing up at the last minute and a mom or bridesmaid, or the couple themselves, setting up chairs and tables–even mowing the yard–on the morning of the wedding.  These were all things Jeanne witnessed repeatedly over the years. No wonder people were exhausted before their wedding even began…
